This evaporative air conditioner in Ballajura was cooling the house nicely, until........

 

The water inlet coupling split. An inspection of the coupling indicated the premature failure was caused by the sun.

 

 

Once the coupling failed water at full pressure was free to enter the roof space and the subsequent flood of water caused the ceiling  to collapse.

 

 

The end result was the ceiling and saturated debris ended up on the carpet and over the walls.

 

 

MMM cleaned up the room and removed all debris and rubbish. The water coupling to the air conditioner was replaced and the supply hose positioned out of direct sunlight to prevent the same failure occurring again........
